The patient had his right arm near-severed by an Arachnid talon. The ulna was broken, although the radius was primarily intact which. This along with some of the tendons were the only connection between the forearm and the upper arm. |
Patient's arm was secured with a tourniquet and the half-stump secured with a splint and bandage. The patient was subsequently evacuated.
Afterwards, the patient was placed in a healing chamber until sufficient recovery. Patient discharged with an exo-sleeve/cast to promote further recovery of the shattered ulna. |

Patient was caught in a blast from friendly fire. The explosion severed his left arm which was found nearby. No other injuries noted. Significant blood loss noted. Patient in shock and critical condition. |
A tourniquet was applied to the left arm above the wound and secured. Following this, the patient's arm was placed in an ice bag. TXA was applied within two minutes of the injury and a blood transfusion started. The patient was medically evacuated within thirty minutes of sustaining the wound.
The arm was surgically re-attached following arrival aboard the UCF Hiroo Onoda. |
